Today is Good Friday – the day we remember the crucifixion of Jesus. This is a heavy reality of Jesus’s story. On the night before his crucifixion Jesus gathered his disciples together. He needed to help them understand what was about to happen. He gave them a mandate: a command and a commission. This same mandate applies to His followers today. Before we enter the somber reflection called forth by Good Friday take some time to meditate on that mandate and evaluate your response to it.
