Hello, I’m Erica Connell. I’m delighted and honored to be a new member of the teaching team here at Liminal. I’ve been attending Liminal, and Ventura Vineyard from which it emerged, since 2017.
What I love most about Liminal is how it embodies the Church I imagined as a child. Growing up and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, I studied and imagined life with Jesus quite a bit. I put myself in the place of the disciples, and others, hearing what he said and watching how he lived. Jesus embraced the questions and exploration of God and faith, moved with kindness, and challenged the prevailing ideas about God and life at the time. At Liminal, we do too.
In addition to being such a safe space, Liminal also has been an environment in which I’ve felt free to allow God into my own ungodliness and thereby transform everything. As a recovering perfectionist and people pleaser, this has been a fantastic journey, finding new layers and depths in the Joy of the Lord.
