Blue Christmas

The holidays are nearly here! There are decorations, parties, dinners, and all manner of good cheer. In fact, it seems that Christmas is synonymous with celebrating. For those among us who are surrounded by festivities while alone, while enduring a difficult season, Christmastime can just plain hurt. Christmas is a time of celebration, yes. But, the reason we celebrate is what sustains us. We have hope. “God with us: Immanuel.” Everyone has moments in their lives when they need to trust that hope and wholeness are not far off. This special service can be a meaningful experience for many who are having difficulty, especially during the holidays.
