It’s that time again! Please join us for the 5th annual Speakeasy Project running August 16th-31st. Our One-Act Comedy and Live Music Festival features brand new works by local playwrights and live music from mega-talented local musicians, all set in our very own lounge we affectionately call “Sweet Jay’s”.
We are holding 3 days of auditions and have dozens of roles to fill! All ages and all experience levels welcome. Headshots and resumes are welcome but not necessary. We guarantee this will be the most fun you can have this summer.
Don’t want to be on stage? No problem! We are also seeking multiple crew positions including a choreographer, assistant stage managers, prop designers/curators, set builders, lighting and audio technicians, assistant house managers, ticket takers, concessions and more. Send an email to fracturedactors@gmail.com and let us know how you would like to be involved.
Our original Speakeasy Project premiered in 2018 and celebrated the Prohibition era. It was the inaugural production in our new black box theater. We returned to sold-out audiences in 2019 with The Speakeasy Project: American Roadhouse – a Ventura take on a classic American honky-tonk. In 2022, we spotted UFOs and danced with extraterrestrials in the desert at Area 22. And last year we celebrated the Golden Age of Hollywood.
What will our theme be for 2024? Come join us and find out. We can’t wait to see you!
Auditions will involve cold reading from one or more of our brand-new plays. No preparation necessary / All ages encouraged to audition. Show up during one of the following audition windows:
