Hey all, for this Sunday’s service we had kind of an impromptu debrief session prompted by the shooting the day prior. Due to the nature of the open and vulnerable conversation and people sharing / processing reactions in real-time (without a notice / reminder that it would be publicly available later) it was requested to not post this weeks recording. In lieu of that, here is the central quote that prompted the discussion:
Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction.
