My name is Kevin Clark. I have lived in Ventura County for 32 years. I was raised mostly in Seattle, and a little— the tail-end— in Pacific Palisades, where I met my wife of 38 years, Laura. We love Ventura, where we have resided since 1996.
Our favorite days are spent soaking up the rays and sea breeze at the beach, walking local trails, and hanging at home with our severely disabled adult daughter, who is our princess for life. We have two other grown children, one who is married, who bask in “big city” living. Along with 20-plus previous years working in the criminal justice field for the Santa Barbara court system, I have been the primary caretaker for our daughter since 2006.
I first attended Liminal Church in July 2020 following an incredibly beautiful encounter with love decades earlier that had left me searching, for years, for a body of Christ-followers who embrace the wonder of life in the search for love’s inherent wildness and embrace, speaking in a sense through all circumstances. I found a place, at Liminal, where honesty is prized, no question is a wrong question, and wading into the textures that define all of life are celebrated and respected.
My interests include coffee (first!), art, including drawing & painting, writing, playing guitar, nature, music of all kinds, mountain biking, and sharing with friends. I read a lot, splitting my time between fiction and nonfiction. I love digging into the Scriptures, and have developed a valuable and necessary commitment to sitting meditation, as a Zen practitioner.
From about 2022-2026 I volunteered as the Small Groups Facilitator, joined the Teaching Team in 2024, and remain a committed part of both the Board and Leadership Team. I love being part of the adventure in building this community in its utter respect for you and wherever you find yourself in this search for being, healing, and fellowship in the illuminating glow of Love Supreme, as saxophonist John Coltrane described this core of life.
We welcome you!
