REGENERATE: Scripture Studies in Pursuit of Jesus

This study is designed for challenging yet rewarding mutual discovery – perhaps re-discovery – of the Bible in a setting where we take a “beginner’s mind” approach to the continuing relevance of its words, stories, and themes. This is an excellent place to dabble or go as deep as you wish in a group committed to openness and curiosity. We’ll discuss its history, teachings, and meaning from cover to cover. At the center and throughout is an ongoing look at…

Black History Month Movie Discussion

We will be joining with The Jesus Collective (Dr. David Moore’s online community) to discuss the movie, “Coded Bias.” This documentary follows Dr. Buolamwini who discovered racial and gender bias in facial recognition software while doing research at MIT and investigates how such bias permeates the technology all around us. Join us to discuss the movie, hear each other’s unique experiences, and challenge our own unconscious biases. Discussion: Wednesday, March 1, 7pm-8pm – via Zoom (Optional Watch Party: Tuesday, February…

Blue Christmas

Sometimes, “Merry Christmas” and “Happy New Year” don’t express the reality of life.  In fact, there are times when “merry” and “happy” seem impossible to even imagine.  We have a tradition at Liminal Church of taking time to recognize that, amidst the feasting and present unwrapping, there are those whose hearts are heavy.  Blue Christmas is a time when we can pause, and offer a safe space to process those harder things.  It is a time when we can come…

Christmas Decorating Party

We’re going to have a casual night of Christmas decorating here at the church on Friday, November 26th at 7:30 pm. We’ve downsized our Christmas decor since our move so it won’t take too long.
